Kanso’s America series consists of 9 large-scale paintings and over 30 works of various dimensions and mediums done between 1989 and 1991. They fall compositionally, thematically, and expressively into a pictorial organization that divides the canvas space into separate sections of juxtaposed planes which combine to form a scene derived from a network of relationships between subject matter and technique, and variations of focus and contrast.
